Fredric W. Taylor:
F.W. Taylor asserts in the book Scientific Management that organization
can be organized scientifically which uses and produces the maximum input
and output of energies and resources. He says that among the various
implementation methods there is one best method of executing the job. And
this best method can be found through proper study and analysis. The main
characteristics of Scientific Management are mentioned below:
-
Organization
should provide appropriate technology in the sense of machines,
instruments
and
tools. Besides, there should be standardization of implantation's
procedure.
-
Planning should be done before hand and
communicated in writing.
-
Defining of work according to the planning. This must specify
what is to be done, how it is to be done and the time allowed for
doing it.
- Division of work.
-
Effective interior communication. Each man should daily be
taught by and receive the most friendly help from those who are
over him. This close, intimate, personal cooperation between the
management and the men is of the essence of modern
scientific or task management
- Supremacy of established rules.
-
Selection of people according to the nature of the job. And,
selection and training should be done in a scientific manner, which
means that jobs should be assigned to those people who qualify for
the job.
- Appropriate wages and other monetary incentives.
